- 2 January – Incumbent Ayub Khan defeats Fatima Jinnah in the 1965 Pakistani presidential election.[1]

- 1 August – The innaugural issue of English-language weekly newspaper Holiday is published in Dacca.[2]

- 6 September – Border disputes over Kashmir erupt into full-scale war as Indian forces attack near Lahore.[3][4]
- 14 September – The Battle of Chawinda commences.[5]
- 23 September – A ceasefire is implemented in the Indo-Pakistani war of 1965.[6]
