Olinda is an agricultural and residential community on the island of Maui in the U.S. state of Hawaii, located approximately 2 miles (3 km) southeast of Makawao. It ranges in elevation from 1,800 to 4,200 feet (550 to 1,280 m) on the northern slopes of Haleakala. It is a census-designated place, with a population of 1,188 at the 2020 census[2] and an area of 7.5 square miles (19 km2).[1]

Mark Twain once lived on Olinda Road.[citation needed]

The Rainbow Bridge concert by Jimi Hendrix was held in a cowfield just off Olinda Road.[citation needed]
