Trichopelma est un genre d'araignées mygalomorphes de la famille des Theraphosidae[1].

Distribution

Les espèces de ce genre se rencontrent aux Antilles, en Amérique du Sud et en Amérique centrale[1].

Systématique et taxinomie

Ce genre a été décrit par Simon en 1888 dans les Aviculariidae.

Stothis[4], Hapalopinus[5], Merothele[6], Obaerarius[7] et Leptostylus[8] Fischel, 1927, préoccupé par Leptostylus LeConte, 1852, remplacé par Leptofischelia par Strand en 1929[9] ont été placés en synonymie par Raven en 1985[10].
