Rum Millet

Sultan Mehmed II dan Patriark Gennadios II. Mehmed II mengijinkan Patriarkat Ekumenikal untuk tetap aktif usai Kejatuhan Konstantinopel pada 1453.

Rūm millet (millet-i Rûm), atau "bangsa Romawi", adalah nama komunitas Gereja Ortodoks Timur di Kekaisaran Utsmaniyah. Meskipun umat Kristen ditaklukan oleh Islam, komunitas tersebut menikmati otonomi internal tertentu.[1]
