A 74.ª edição do Oscar, apresentada pela Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) em 24 de março de 2002, homenageou filmes de 2001 no Kodak Theatre em Los Angeles. Durante a cerimônia, foram premiadas 24 categorias. A transmissão televisiva foi feita pelo canal ABC e produzida por Laura Ziskin e dirigida por Louis J. Horvitz.^[1] A atriz Whoopi Goldberg apresentou a premiação pela quarta vez.^[2] Três semanas antes, Charlize Theron apresentou a premiação por conquistas técnicas em 2 de março no Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel em Beverly Hills na California.^[3]
