Iris Murdoch

Dame Jean Iris Murdoch DBE (15.7. 1919 – 8.2. 1999) bila je spisateljica i filozofkinja rodom iz Dublina, najpoznatija po romanima koji kombiniraju bogatu karakterizaciju i snažne zaplete, najčešće na temu etike ili seksualnosti. Njen prvi objavljeni roman Under the Net je godine 2001. od strane američke kuče Modern Library proglašen za jedan od 100 najboljih romana na engleskom jeziku u 20. vijeku. Godine 1987. je dobila titulu Dame Zapovjednika Reda Britanskog Imperija. Studirala je na Koledžu Somerville pri Univerzitetu u Oxfordu.

Iris Murdoch je poznata i po biografskom filmu Iris u kojoj su je tumačile Kate Winslet i Judi Dench.
