William od Newburgha

William od Newburgha ili Newburyja (engleski: William of Newburgh; latinski: Guilelmus Neubrigensis,[1] Wilhelmus Neubrigensis,[2] ili Willelmus de Novoburgo.[3] 1136?–1198?), također poznat i kao William Parvus, bio je engleski augustinski redovnik i historičar, najpoznatiji kao autor teksta Historia rerum Anglicarum ("Historija engleskih stvari") u kome je opisao historiju Engleske od 1066. do 1198. Tekst je izazvao veliku pažnju historičara kao izuzetno važan izvor za period građanskog rata poznat kao Anarhija (1135 - 1153), ali i svakodnevnom životu u Engleskoj 12. vijeka. U svom djelu je žestoko kritizirao tekst Historia Regum Britanniae svog prethodnika Williama od Malmesburyja, nazivajući ga "lažima", te ga se ponekad naziva i pionirom kritičke historije. Pažnju su privukli i njegovi navodi o tzv. revenantima, odnosno mrtvacima koji izlaze iz groba kako bi mučili svoje rođake, a što su mitografi povezali sa legendama o vampirima i zombijima, kao i priča o zelenoj djeci Wolpita koja se ponekad povezuje sa vanzemaljcima.
